The Icons-flag-us.png United States of America is a country in North America. It is 9.833 million square kilometers in land area[1] and a population of 325 million.[2] The capital of the United States is Washington, D.C. It possesses a third of the world's wealth.[3]

Geography[edit]

All of the United States's insular areas.

The United States stretches from the San Andreas Fault in California (in the west), to the Appalachian mountains in the east. It is bordered by Icons-flag-ca.png Canada to the north and Icons-flag-mx.png Mexico to the south. The United States also includes various countries in the Pacific Ocean, called the Minor Outlying Islands.
