Icons-flag-ua.png The Ukraine[1] is a country in eastern Europe. The Ukrainian capital is Kiev, while other cities include Lviv and Kharkiv. The current Ukrainian president is Petro Poroshenko.

Geography[edit]

Ukraine lies far from tectonic plate boundaries. It is bordered by Icons-flag-by.png Belarus and Icons-flag-ru.png Russia to the north, Icons-flag-pl.png Poland and Icons-flag-sk.png Slovakia to the west, and Icons-flag-md.png Moldova and Icons-flag-ro.png Romania to the south. The longest river in Ukraine is the Dniepr. Ukraine has a capital of 42 million people.[2]
