VV Cephei, also known as HD 208816, is a star located in the constellation Cepheus. It is located 4,900 light years away from the Earth. VV Cephei has a diameter of 1,900 D☉, making it around the size of the orbit of Uranus. VV Cephei has a stellar class of M2 and a temperature of 3,840 degrees Kelvin; it is a red supergiant star that is currently burning oxygen and heavier elements within its core. VV Cephei is around 200,000 times brighter than the Sun.
